Project Manager – Part-Time
Are you brilliantly organised, calm under pressure, and happiest when a complex project is running like clockwork?
Magenta is looking for a part-time Project Manager to be the organisational backbone of our research - the person who keeps everything moving so our team can focus on brilliant thinking and insight.
The Role
As Project Manager you will help to manage projects from start to finish, working alongside our Associate Operations Director and project leads to keep everything on track, on time and beautifully organised.
Our Operations Team is the engine room of our research delivery, and you'll play an important role within it handling the set-up, the logistics, the admin and the wrap-up that turn a great idea into a smoothly run project.
This is a hands-on, detail-focused role for someone who loves bringing order to the moving parts. You'll touch every stage of a project, work with clients, recruiters and freelancers, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
This is a part-time role of 20-24 hours a week. Our preference is either four hours a day over five days, or three full consecutive days but we're flexible and happy to find a working pattern that suits the right candidate.
The role is remote – you will work from home. The full-time salary is £25-30K depending on experience and will be paid pro-rata depending on agreed hours.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will span the full life of a project, from set-up through to wrap-up. Full training and plenty of examples will be provided.
The role is likely to include tasks such as:
- Helping to set up projects, including organising the paperwork and sharing files and folders with clients.
- Coordinating participant recruitment with our recruiters, checking profiles and keeping things on track.
- Booking venues, online platforms, suppliers and liaising with participants.
- Keeping documents, trackers and project information well organised and up-to-date.
- Pulling together weekly project updates for the team.
- Proofreading and polishing documents to our brand guidelines.
- Wrapping projects up, tidying folders, supporting case studies and gathering client feedback.
- Supporting the wider team with ad hoc requests, from helping with proposals to creating social media content, website updates and short videos and reels from our research.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone exceptionally well organised who enjoys keeping plates spinning and people on track. You’ll have:
- Strong project coordination or project management experience from a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
- A real eye for detail and a methodical, reliable approach, you're the person who spots the gap before it becomes a problem.
- Confident communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, recruiters and freelancers.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects at once and keep everything moving to deadline.
- A collaborative, flexible attitude that suits a small, non-hierarchical team.
- A 'can-do' spirit - whatever the challenge, you're up for giving it a go and doing your best.
Why Magenta?
At Magenta, we’re not just another research agency. We’re a tight-knit team of strategic thinkers who believe research can fundamentally transform businesses.
Our flat structure means everyone’s ideas aren't just heard, they're actively sought and implemented.
We work remotely but get together regularly to work and socialise - that might be a day-long team training session, or simply a day out enjoying the summer sunshine. You're encouraged to bring your passions to work.
We offer flexible working, a fun environment and a genuine work-life balance built around what that actually looks like for you. We'll happily consider different working patterns for the right person. Benefits include:
- A personal training budget to spend on whatever helps you do your job better.
- 25 days' annual leave (pro rata) plus we close between Christmas and New Year.
- 2 days a year to volunteer.
- A place in the company bonus scheme — all employees are included.
- Pension.

Associate Director / Director Qualitative & Mixed Methods
Are you a brilliant researcher with a gift for building client relationships and a real appetite for growing a business?
Magenta is looking for a senior new member to join our growing team – someone who will help shape not just our projects, but the future direction of the company.
The Role
As an Associate Director or Director at Magenta (we’ll pitch the level to the right person), you’ll combine outstanding research with senior client leadership and a genuine focus on business development.
Working in our award-winning team, you’ll deliver high-quality qualitative and mixed-method projects, deepen and grow client relationships, and bring in new business that fuels our next phase of growth. This is a senior, commercially-minded role. Alongside leading excellent research, you’ll own client relationships, spot and convert new opportunities, and be a confident ambassador for Magenta wherever you go. It’s a rare chance to have genuine input into a small, ambitious agency – and to be recognised and rewarded for the business you help build.
Client Relationships & Business Development
This sits at the very heart of the role.
Own and grow key client relationships, becoming the trusted advisor clients return to again and again. Bring in new business – developing prospects into clients, writing winning proposals and delivering pitches that showcase Magenta’s thinking. Develop and deliver strategic account plans, with responsibility for revenue targets. Identify new market opportunities and help Magenta expand into new sectors and services. Take ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction across your accounts.
Project & Research Leadership
Lead research projects end to end, across a diverse range of clients and sectors. Take, interrogate and challenge client briefs, keeping the focus firmly on their business outcomes. Design research that gets to the answers that matter – confidently across qualitative and mixed methods. Turn complex data into compelling, beautifully told stories, in whatever format best suits the project. Keep a close eye on project finances so work is delivered profitably. Help drive innovation – blending qualitative depth with quantitative precision and bringing emerging methods and technologies into our work.
People & Thought Leadership
Mentor and inspire junior researchers, championing a culture of curiosity and continuous learning. Stay open to learning yourself, working with us to shape your own development. Create thought leadership – articles, talks and conference presentations – that positions both Magenta and you as a leading voice in the industry.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a senior researcher who is as comfortable winning and growing clients as they are leading brilliant work. You’ll have:
-A strong track record of building close, lasting client relationships – ideally including clients in the FMCG / consumer goods sector, such as parent companies with multiple brands under one umbrella (P&G, Unilever, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola or similar).
-A proven commercial and business development track record – generating leads, winning work and growing accounts.
-A qualitative or mixed-method background. You should be confident leading qualitative projects and comfortable talking about both qual and quant – we frequently integrate the two. We’re not looking for a quant-only skillset.
-Significant research experience (typically 7+ years) with a track record of delivering high-impact insight.
-Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into compelling narratives.
-An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, flexible and non-hierarchical environment.
-Ideally, a track record of thought leadership (publications, conference presentations, industry recognition).
-Even though it's a remote role, you will need to be based in the UK for this position.
